Jovan Reid is the founder and project manager of the Bajan Dream Project. He has had lead responsibility for developing the project model, intervention strategy and communication plan, and currently oversees project implementation, recruitment and monitoring.

As an honours graduate in Social Development, Reid specialises in social policy analysis, corporate social responsibility strategy and the design and management of development projects. As a career media professional, he also has substantial experience in public relations, behaviour change communication, campaign design, advocacy and development communication.

In addition to housing and shelter provision, Reid’s major interests have been in the areas of HIV/AIDS behaviour change strategies and microfinance/venture capital solutions to poverty alleviation. He has had stints with a number of NGOs including the University of the West Indies’ HIV/AIDS Response Programme and the Jamaica chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Concerned about the instances of inadequate housing and its accompanying poverty in Barbados and the Caribbean, Reid launched the Project as a prototype for housing and indigence relief in 2005. His vision, ultimately, is for the Bajan Dream Project to provide an efficient and reliable complement to existing state housing and poverty relief, and to improve the lives of those caught in the grips of debilitating poverty.
